Résumé

Within the Totally Disaggregate Approach modelling framework, continuing research has been undertaken in improving planning methods and tools for the transit operators in the Greater Montreal Area. The smart card AFC (Automated Fare Collection) system in Montreal is a tapin only system, and it requires a lot of intelligent processing to derive trip boarding locations and destinations. The research has been successful in constructing a dynamic microsimulation for the subway where individual passenger is assigned to a specific train and where a series of performance key indicators are generated for any moment of the day. Ongoing research aims at the same modelling approach for the bus system which will integrate an activity based (obtained from household travel survey) modelling framework.
